The Pasty Run Bike Ride

In June this year Andrew Chilcott and his team from CBRE staff at the DVLA completed what has now become their annual charity bike ride in memory of Thomas Hopkins, a DVLA Colleague, who sadly lost his battle to cancer in 2016. This is the 3rd time they have challenged themselves with a huge bike ride to raise as much money as they can for LLMF (Wales) .

This year, “The Pasty Run” started in Bude, Cornwall and followed around the West Coast back to Singleton Hospital in Swansea. The group left Bude in Cornwall on 21st June and cycled 85 miles to Taunton. Day 2 covered the longest distance from Taunton to Cwmbran, some 95 miles.  Day 3 was the final 65 miles from Cwmbran to Swansea.

On arrival at Singleton Hospital the team were met by family, friends and well wishers along with Trustees from LLMF to welcome them home and celebrate their fantastic fundraising activity.

The final total is still being counted but once again several thousands of pounds have been raised. We sincerely thank all involved and all their very generous supporters for their contribution.
