We were contacted back in April by Lowri Thomas who explained that she was organising a charity event to raise money towards 3 main charities, Myeloma UK, Prince Phillip Chemotherapy Unit and LLMF at Singleton Hospital as a way of thanks for the treatment given to mother.
Lowri explained that her Mum was in Singleton Hospital for three weeks when she had her stem cell transplant in October 2024, and that the care she had during that time was amazing.
So in August, Lowri and her brother, and what turned out to be a huge team of family and friends, walked from the Heath hospital in Cardiff back to their home in Drefach over a course of 3 days via Singleton and Prince Phillip as they followed Mum’s journey of her treatment.
We met up with Lowri and the team in the day room of Ward 11 at the end of their 2nd day of walking.
They have raised an incredible amount of money for their chosen charities and we want to thank them all for their donation to LLMF.
