Becca Richards has taken on a mountain of a challenge that will take place in September when she competes in the legendary “Man vs Mountain” adventure run in North Wales. The run starts at sea level at Caernarfon Castle and then weaves its way to the summit of Snowdon and down the other side. Not only that there will be an array of punishing obstacles en route! 22 miles, 5055ft ascent, and an average race time of over 5 ½ hours. This is a big challenge!

Becca has been training hard, and has spent time in the Brecon Beacons and Lake District getting ready for this. Becca explains on her “Sponsor Me” web page what has inspired her to do this and raise money for LLMF.

We all wish her the very best of luck.

I will be taking part in the ‘Man vs Mountain’ adventure race in Snowdonia in September to raise money for the Lymphoma Leukaemia Myeloma Fund (Wales). This race involves a 22 mile race up Snowdon (5055ft elevation gain!), with a few other adventurous activities thrown in!

The LLMF is a charity which provides help for patients and their family members when undergoing haematology treatment in and around Swansea and West Wales. The money raised will go towards urgently needed resources such as medical equipment, but will also go towards support for the practical difficulties that are encountered with these life threatening diseases.

A close family friend’s father had been battling a life threatening disease for some time, and received help and support from the charity until his passing at the end of last year. I would love to help support other individuals and their families who use the facilities and the support that the charity provides.

This will be a huge challenge for myself, but I am looking forward (and slightly apprehensive!) to the training and the adventures that it will take me on in the meantime! Any donations will be greatly received!
